SALISBURY UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR CREDITS CHRIS BRADY AND ORRIN WOODWARD’S BOOK LAUNCHING A LEADERSHIP REVOLUTION AS A GROUNDBREAKING PUBLICATION.

Douglas M. DeWitt, PhD, a professor at Salisbury University, has recently published a research paper that delves into the core precepts outlined in the influential book, "Launching a Leadership Revolution," authored by Chris Brady and Orrin Woodward.

Dr. DeWitt's study examined four award-winning school leaders asking, "What makes a school leader

effective? In doing so, DeWitt credits Brady and Woodward as the first to identify hunger as a foundational quality of a leader.

DeWitt’s research, rooted in a meticulous review of existing literature and interviews with four distinguished educational leaders, not only validates the principles laid out in "Launching a Leadership Revolution" but goes a step further in identifying hunger as a pivotal trait. Dr. DeWitt's findings resonate with subsequent research, indicating a growing consensus within academic circles regarding the validity and applicability of the principles put forth by Brady and Woodward.

One of the key takeaways from his research is the endorsement of the Trilateral Leadership Ledger, a conceptual framework presented by Brady and Woodward in their book. The Ledger suggests that Leadership Effectiveness is the product of character times tasks times relationships: LE=CxTxR (p. 98-9).

As organizations continue to navigate complex challenges in today's dynamic environment, the insights provided by Dr. DeWitt's research offers a timely and invaluable resource. The integration of hunger as a foundational quality, coupled with the Trilateral Leadership Ledger, provides a roadmap for aspiring leaders looking to make a lasting impact in their respective fields.

DeWitt’s research not only underscores the enduring relevance of "Launching a Leadership Revolution" but also cements Brady and Woodward’s position as renowned leaders and management experts.
